We are delighted to announce that we have recently been successful in our application to the Criminal Property Confiscation Grants program. These grants are funded by proceeds from crime and target projects that provide support services and other assistance to victims of crime.
The program we will develop aims to help women and children escaping from family and domestic violence. We will be working in collaboration with Street Law WA and the Women’s Law Centre to create an integrated service to help people with legal, social and health issues. In WA, family and domestic violence is the leading cause of homelessness. We want to prevent homelessness for women and children.
The grant depends on us finding matching funding, so we will be seeking some corporate partners interested in making a real difference in the lives of woman and children escaping family and domestic violence. We hope to have this service up and running early next year.
